Proposed Class Offerings

LP Babies
(Ages 0 – 16 months)
LP Babies is designed for anyone new to the program with a child up to 16 months. The class will focus on early childhood development with an emphasis on language, fine and gross motor skills. Parents and children will learn together in a play-based environment.

LP Toddlers
(Ages 16 – 30 months)
LP Toddlers is geared for returning LP Toddlers or anyone new to the program with a child between 16 and 36 months. The class will focus on the development of pre-literacy, language and numeracy skills. Parents and children will learn together in a play-based environment.

LP Pre-K
(Ages 30 months – 4 years)
LP Pre-K is for returning LP Toddlers or anyone new to the program with a child between 30 months and 4 years. This class will focus on development of pre-literacy, language and numeracy skills, and kindergarten readiness.

LP Level 1
(Ages 4 – 6 years)
LP Level 1 is for returning LP Pre-K students or anyone new to the program with a child between 4 and 6 years old. Students entering this class should be able to match picture to picture and understand at least 50 words. This class will focus on building literacy and math skills, while providing speech and occupational therapy input to enhance learning at school and home.

LP Level 2
(Ages 5 – 7 years)
LP Level 2 is for returning LP Level 1 students or anyone new to the program with a child between 5 and 7 years old, depending on skill level. The lectures and materials in Level 2 build on those acquired in Level 1, adding higher level literacy skills (spelling and comprehension), and introducing operations, time and money. Learners in Level 2 should have a solid foundation of Level 1 skills.

LP Level 3
(Ages 6 – 8 years)
LP Level 3 is for parents of returning LP Level 2 students or anyone new to the program with a child between 6 and 8 years old. Families are encouraged to allow students to remain in school during this class. Students who attend will experience small group tutoring with a focus on higher level literacy skills (independent sentence and paragraph formation and comprehension) and higher level math skills (math fact memorization, multi-digit operations, time & money). Students in Level 3 are comfortable with the Level 2 Emergent Reader Series and are competent with early number concepts.

LP Level 4
(Ages 7 – 9 years)
LP Level 4 is a continuation class available only to returning Level 3 families or families approved by the program team.

LP Grads
(Ages 9 – 14 years)
LP Grads is a continuation class available only to returning LP Co-Op families or families approved by the program team. Families are encouraged to allow students to remain in school during this class. Students who attend will participate in small group tutoring focusing on IEP goals for literacy and math.
